Greg Poe flew his aerobatic plane over Colorado Springs on Thursday to promote this weekend's In Their Honor Air Show. After stepping out of his cockpit, Poe visited West Middle School to talk with students about pursuing their dreams and having confidence in themselves. The speech was a personal one for him: His own son's life was cut short by drugs in 2002, a point he touched on in his presentation. But he wasn't alone in reaching out to the community. Pilots with the A-10 West Demonstration Team also hopped in their flight suits Thursday and headed over to Memorial Hospital for Children, comforting children there and handing out autographs. The Air Show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and takes place at the Colorado Springs Airport, Fountain and Aviation Way. To learn more, visit www.cosairshow.com.
